What is blood flow restriction training (BFRT)?

Blood flow Restriction training involves the application of external pressure to the limb(s) while completing exercises. The pressure applied is high enough to safely occlude venous blood flow while maintaining arterial blood flow to the area. I have state-of-the-art physical therapies for your early recovery.

Why use BFR in rehabilitation?

BFRT allows for strength gains to be made while lifting at lower loads compared to those usually required for higher intensity strength training. BFRT provides the following game-changing benefits:

  • Decreases muscle atrophy and strength loss following an injury

  • Increased muscle strength while using only 30% of typical load

  • Increased muscular hypertrophy, or size, with only 30% of typical load

  • Increased muscular endurance

  • Increased muscle activation

  • Increased muscle protein growth in the elderly

  • Improving bone density

  •

Who is BFRT suitable for?

BFRT has been shown to be a safe and effective treatment method in a wide variety of patient populations including:

  • Postoperative

  • Athletic

  • Elderly

  • Acute and chronic injury

  • And more
